This year, there will be elections for President and Congress in Virginia, as well as two state constitutional ballot questions.

Our Republican nominee for Congress (U.S. House of Representatives) from the 8th District is Charles Hernick, who was nominated at the 8th District Republican Convention on May 7th.

There will be two proposed amendments to the Virginia Constitution on the ballot. The first codifies Virginia’s right to work law in to the Constitution. The second allows localities to exempt widows of fallen first responders (police, firefighters, EMTs, etc.) from property taxes. The 8th District Republican Committee SUPPORTS and endorses both of these constitutional amendments, and urges all 8th District residents to vote YES on both questions.

For Fairfax County residents, there will be a referendum proposing a meals tax. The 8th District Republican Committee OPPOSES the meals tax and urges all Fairfax County residents to vote NO on the question.
