In addition to the 8th District Republican Convention, there will be a statewide Virginia Republican Convention and a Fairfax County Republican Convention.

Republican Party of Virginia Statewide Convention

The statewide Virginia Republican Convention will be held on Saturday, April 30th at the James Madison University Convocation Center in Harrisonburg. The following offices will be up for election at the state convention:

» Chairman of the Republican Party of Virginia
» 13 At-Large Delegates and 13 Alternate At-Large Delegates to the Republican National Convention in July
» Two Electoral College Electors (to cast Virginia’s vote in the Electoral College if the Republican nominee for president wins Virginia)
» One National Committeeman and one National Committeewoman to represent Virginia on the Republican National Committee

The state convention is open to all Republicans registered to vote in Virginia. There is a $35 filing fee to attend and vote in the convention to help defray the costs of holding the convention.

Fairfax County Republican Convention

The Fairfax County Republican Convention was held on March 12th in Springfield. FCRC Chairman Matt Ames was re-elected for a second term. (Fairfax County GOP Convention Recap)
