Alexandria City GOP Sample Ballot The Alexandria City GOP recommends voting YES on both constitutional amendments. (There are no bonds on the ballot in Alexandria City.)

Arlington County GOP Sample Ballot The Arlington County GOP has taken no position on the constitutional amendments or the bonds.

Fairfax County GOP Sample Ballot The Fairfax County GOP recommends voting YES on both constitutional amendments and NO on all four bonds.


Important Dates

September 19, 2020 — Absentee voting opens for the 2020 general elections. October 13, 2020 — Deadline to register to vote or update your registration for the 2020 general elections. October 23, 2020 — Last day to request a mailed absentee ballot for the 2020 general elections. October 31, 2020 — Last day of in-person early voting for the 2020 general elections. November 3, 2020 — Election Day. Polls are open from 6:00 AM – 7:00 PM. Find your polling place at the Department of Elections Citizen Portal. Mailed absentee ballots must be POSTMARKED by November 3rd.

Absentee / Mail Voting

In Virginia, you no longer need to cite a reason to vote absentee by mail. To apply for an absentee ballot online, visit the Department of Elections Citizen Portal, or print & mail the paper application. (The deadline to request a mailed absentee ballot is October 23rd at 5:00 PM, and ballots must be postmarked by Election Day, November 3rd.)

In-Person Early Voting

Early in-person voting is open in all four of our localities. Alexandria City Residents Click here for early voting locations and hours in the City of Alexandria. The Fairfax County GOP recommends voting NO on bond questions and YES on the constitutional amendments. Falls Church City Residents Early voting is open at City Hall, 300 Park Avenue, Falls Church (map). It is open through Friday 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM, and on Saturday 10/31 from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
