The 2010 8th District Republican Convention will be held this Saturday, May 22, 2010, at 10:00 am at the T.C. Williams High School Auditorium at 3330 King St., Alexandria, VA 22302. Registration will open at 9 am and the convention will begin promptly at 10 am. The event should be over around noon or 1 pm.

This will be an exciting event and it is open to the public! The convention will feature presentations by the two congressional candidates, Matthew Berry & Patrick Murray, and a Q&A session will they will respond to your questions.

We will also be conducting a congressional straw poll, which will be going forward as planned. Even if you are not a delegate, you can still vote in the poll! Non-delegates can sign up to participate for a $20 fee at a table at the convention. The only requirement is the ability to legally contribute to campaigns under federal election law. The money will be used to support the nominee, which will be determined on June 8th, and the local units and auxiliaries. Delegates can vote at no charge.

Delegates have already been set, but again, the event is open to everyone, so please come out and show your support for the 8th District GOP and our candidates. Conventions happen every two years, and this is a huge election year, so don’t miss it!
