Announcing Operation Potomac Crossing
The 8th District Committee, in conjunction with the Northern Virginia Young Republican Clubs and the RPV’s Virginia Victory program, are launching “Operation Potomac Crossing” to help bring volunteers from outside Virginia into the 8th District to help support the Romney, Allen, and Murray campaigns.
The goal of Operation Potomac Crossing is to recruit volunteers from the ranks of Capitol Hill staff, DC and Maryland-area students, young professionals, and others from DC and Maryland to come out to help us win Virginia in 2012 for our statewide candidates and congressional candidates. Virginia is one of a handful of key swing states that will determine the outcome of the 2012 election, and we are pulling out all the stops to get volunteers out to help us win the Commonwealth. Our plan is to host regular canvassing walks and phone banks for our out-of-state Republican volunteers.
We are launching the project at a happy hour on Capitol Hill on Thursday, July 26, from 7-9 p.m. at the Capitol Hill Club, 300 First St., SE, in Washington, DC (map, literally steps away from the Capitol South Metro station on the Blue/Orange Lines.) This will be the first recruiting event for the project. We would love to have a great turnout. Everyone is invited and the event is FREE!
If you have questions or would like to RSVP, please contact 8th District Chairman Mike Ginsberg at va8gopchairman@hotmail.com. Please be sure to join us!
