It’s the week of the 2012 Republican National Convention, and we are excited to formally nominate our ticket of Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan!

However, the first concern of our party is the approach of Hurricane Isaac, which threatens to pummel the Gulf Coast. Please keep residents of the area in your prayers. The schedule of the convention is subject to change depending on the course of the hurricane.

Also, the special election for the 45th House of Delegates District is next Tuesday, September 4th! Tomorrow is the last day to apply for an absentee ballot by mail, and Saturday is the last day to vote absentee in person. Vote at your regular polling place. Please get out and vote for our GOP nominee Tim McGhee and put another Republican in the House of Delegates!

The 8th District GOP is happy to announce our Alexandria Victory Office grand opening celebration with special guest Bill Kristol, Weekly Standard powerhouse and Fox News contributor! It will be held on Thursday, September 13, at 7:00 pm, and the event is free! The office is located at 25 South Dove St. in Alexandria (map), right off Duke Street and within walking distance of the King Street Metro station.
