It’s not too early to begin thinking about the 2013 RPV State Convention. The Convention will be held on Saturday, May 18, at the Richmond Coliseum in Richmond. Delegates to the convention will nominate the GOP candidates for the three statewide offices –Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Attorney General.
To be a delegate, you will need to be formally elected by your city or county Republican committee (in the 8th District, the Arlington County Republican Committee, the Alexandria Republican City Committee, the Falls Church City Republican Committee, and the Fairfax County Republican Committee). Committees will be electing delegates at meetings to be held between March 1 and April 30, 2013. You can find out exactly when your jurisdiction’s meeting will be by going to the RPV 2013 Convention website and clicking on the link for the 2013 Calls. We will also publish the information in this newsletter.
The convention will also include a Gala dinner the night before, on the evening of Friday, May 17. Tickets will go on sale soon, and there will be a headline speaker that will be announced.
The 2013 Convention will be an exciting and fun time, and a great way to see old friends and recruit new members into the party. We are hoping to have a great turnout at the convention, and we hope you will come down to Richmond on May 18 to join us!
