Memorial Day
Read this message from E.W. Jackson:
—————————————————————–
This weekend we commemorate the many service men and women who have given “the last full measure of devotion” for our country and our freedom.
The Scripture says, “greater love has no man this, than to lay down his life for his friends.” We owe a debt we can never repay to those who have given their lives in defense of our liberty. They have absorbed undeserved punishment. They have suffered in body and mind. They have left behind families to fight in foreign lands and never returned, so that we could cling to our families and not have to leave.
The true heroes are not those who serve in elected office, but those who don a uniform, take an oath to the Constitution and are willing to die for that oath. The true sacrifice is not running a political campaign, but walking through the hell of bullets and bombs in defense of our country. May we never forget them. May we ever be grateful. May we never leave them abandoned on the field of battle. And may we also honor and support those who come home, for the heroes they are. Without them we would not be the greatest nation in history, and because of them we are the land of the free and the home of the brave.

This weekend, wherever you are, whatever you’re doing, always remember that our veterans secured your freedom to do it. And remember those who are continuing to secure it today around the world.
God bless our troops, and God bless America.
