Vote TODAY!
It’s finally here – Election Day 2016!
Polling Places & Voter ID Requirements
Polls will be open from 6:00 AM – 7:00 PM.
Your polling place may have changed since the last election. Please confirm your polling place here.
Lines may be long at polling places, so give yourself enough time to cast your vote. You may want to consider voting during less busy parts of the day, such as mid-morning and mid-afternoon, if you are available then. The line will close promptly at 7:00 pm – you must be in line by 6:59:59 PM or you won’t be able to vote if you are voting last minute. Be advised that parking may be tight during busy periods, especially the evening rush hour, so again, please give yourself enough time to park and get in line.
You must bring a valid photo ID to vote. Click here for a list of acceptable forms of ID. (If you come to the poll without a valid form of identification, you will be offered a provisional ballot and then will need to deliver a copy of your identification by noon Friday.)
Absentee Voters
Have you submitted your absentee ballot yet? It is too late to mail them, so if you have not submitted it, you must personally hand-deliver it to your county/city elections office tomorrow by 7:00 pm or it will not be counted! Postmarks do not count!
Ballot Questions
There will be two proposed amendments to the Virginia Constitution on the ballot. The first codifies Virginia’s right to work law in to the Constitution. The second allows localities to exempt widows of fallen first responders (police, firefighters, EMTs, etc.) from property taxes. The 8th District Republican Committee SUPPORTS and endorses both of these constitutional amendments, and urges all 8th District residents to vote YES on both questions.
For Fairfax County residents, there will be a referendum proposing a meals tax. The 8th District Republican Committee OPPOSES the meals tax and urges all Fairfax County residents to vote NO on the question.
