Victory in Virginia!
It’s been too long since we’ve been able to say these three words: Victory in Virginia!
The media may say they’re shocked, but we’re not. Anyone who’s been on the ground talking to voters knows that Virginia was tired of the far-left agenda imposed on us by McAuliffe, Northam, and Biden, and we were ready to take our commonwealth back.
In addition to winning the three statewide seats — Governor-elect Glenn Youngkin, Lieutenant Governor-elect Winsome Sears, and Attorney General-elect Jason Miyares — we’ve also taken back the majority in the House of Delegates! Locally, we had a candidate for almost every House seat, and all our candidates ran good, competitive campaigns, and even though they were not victorious, they helped drive turnout and divert resources from the Democrats, which helped our statewide candidates and other delegate races. As we’ve long said here in the 8th District, every vote cast in Virginia counts the same! The 8th District Republican Committee was proud to financially support our statewide and local candidates.
Our sweep in 2021 sends a strong message to the nation and puts the GOP in excellent position for the 2022 midterm elections. Remember that redistricting is nearly done and the boundaries of the 8th District will be changing. We will keep you posted as the process develops.
Please consider joining us at the Republican Party of Virginia Advance Conference the weekend of December 2nd-4th at the beautiful Omni Homestead in Hot Springs, Virginia to reflect on our victory and chart our path forward. Details are available here.
For now, let’s celebrate turning Virginia red again! Thank you to everyone who volunteered, donated, and voted for our candidates!
