Update 6:30 pm — Applications for mailed absentee ballots are due tomorrow at your county/city elections office. However, since all the local offices are closed, we have asked the State Board of Elections for clarification. We will keep you updated.
Update 6:10 pm — In person absentee voting is canceled tomorrow, Tuesday, Oct. 30th, in Alexandria, Arlington, Falls Church, and Fairfax County.
Update 12:00 pm — In person absentee voting is canceled today, Monday, in Alexandria City, Arlington County, and Fairfax County. Voting ends in the city of Falls Church at noon.
We will keep you updated on any effects of Hurricane Sandy on absentee voting and Election Day. The impact, if any, on the election is unknown at this point.
In the meantime, please be safe and be in touch with your neighbors, especially the elderly and disabled who may need help preparing for the storm and for the potential of extended power and utility outages. We pray for the safety of everyone in the area and everyone who may be affected by the storm.
