6th District special election & volunteering for 33rd District special election
UPDATE: Congressman Frank Wolf will be joining the Super Saturday in Herndon for John Whitbeck in the 33rd District. Get the details here!
On Tuesday, a special election was held for Ralph Northam’s seat in the 6th Senate District (Norfolk/Virginia Beach area). As of late Wednesday night, Democrat Lynwood Lewis is clinging to a 10 vote lead – yes, ten votes – over Republican Wayne Coleman out of over 20,000 cast, a margin of 0.04%. This election, along with the 33rd Senate District special election coming up, is huge because control of the Senate hangs in the balance. If Coleman wins, Republicans will take control of the Senate with 21 seats, and ironically, Ralph Northam’s power as lieutenant governor will be greatly reduced. Post-election canvassing will continue – Coleman has already gained a net of 12 votes in that process since election night – but regardless of who comes out on top in the certified results, a recount is all but certain. (This election is another example of how every voter matters.) Please consider donating to Wayne Coleman to help with their efforts to ensure electoral integrity.
As per the post below, the special election for the 33rd District here in Northern Virginia is coming up, and your help is needed to deliver the seat into Republican hands on January 21st. This Saturday 1/11, the Whitbeck campaign will be holding a Super Saturday – click here for details. And next Wednesday 1/15, the Fairfax County GOP will hold a phone bank from 5:30-8:30 pm at their headquarters at 4246 Chain Bridge Road in Fairfax (map). No RSVP required; just come ready to help!
