Welcome to 2017
We hope you had a blessed Christmas season and a happy New Year!
Virginia is the place to be for politics in 2017. Virginia is one of only two states with elections every year (the other being New Jersey), and this year is shaping up to be a blockbuster.
Are you ready to take back the governorship?
This year Virginians will elect a new governor, lieutenant governor, and attorney general, plus all 100 members of the House of Delegates, and local offices in some counties/cities. This is a statewide election year – every vote for statewide office counts the same no matter where it is cast.
Governor Terry McAuliffe has spent three years in office with little to show for it – except a $1.2 billion budget deficit this year, an unconstitutional extension of voting rights to violent felons, and some radical social policies. (He’s term-limited and won’t be running for re-election.) Lieutenant Governor Ralph Northam has been a lame duck from the beginning, after Virginians returned control the state Senate to the GOP shortly after he took office. (He’s running for governor.) And Attorney General Mark Herring has repeatedly refused to do his job, which is to defend Virginia’s laws. (He’s running for re-election.) The Democrats cannot be allowed to retain control of the three statewide offices.
We have four excellent candidates for governor, three for lieutenant governor, and two for attorney general. More excellent candidates are lining up for House of Delegates seats and local offices across the commonwealth. There will be a statewide primary on June 14th.
Let’s get to work! Get to know the candidates, and get involved with your county/city GOP to ensure victory for our nominees on November 7th. We have a real opportunity this year to get Virginia back on track, and we need all hands on deck!
Onward to victory!
