DEADLINE TO SIGN UP AS A DELEGATE FROM ARLINGTON IS THIS THURSDAY, FEB. 28

The 2013 RPV State Convention will be held on Saturday, May 18, at the Richmond Coliseum in Richmond. Delegates to the convention will nominate the GOP candidates for the three statewide offices — Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Attorney General.

To be a delegate, you must register through your local city or county GOP committee. The deadlines for each locality are below. NOTE: THE DEADLINE FOR ARLINGTON COUNTY IS THIS THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 28, AT 5 PM.

There will also be a Gala Dinner on the evening of Friday, May 17, and a Convention Breakfast on the morning of Saturday, May 18. RPV is planning to have some big-name speakers at those events. The candidates as of today are:

To be a delegate, you will need to be formally elected by your city or county Republican committee (in the 8th District, the Arlington County Republican Committee, the Alexandria Republican City Committee, the Falls Church City Republican Committee, and the Fairfax County Republican Committee). Committees will be electing delegates at meetings to be held between March 1 and April 30, 2013. We will also publish the information in this newsletter.

KEY DEADLINES:

Arlington: Delegate forms must be received by the Arlington GOP at its 405 S. Glebe Road headquarters by 5 p.m. THIS Thursday, February 28. Postmarks DO NOT govern.

Alexandria City: Delegate forms must be received by April 4, 2012. You can send them to Alexandria Republican City Committee, P.O. Box 245, Alexandria, VA 22313-0245. Postmarks DO NOT govern. Alternatively, you may present completed forms at the Alexandria Republican City Committee meeting held on the evening on Thursday, April 4.

Fairfax: Delegate forms must be received by the Fairfax GOP at its headquarters at 4246 Chain Bridge Road, Fairfax, VA 22030 by 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 9. Postmarks DO NOT govern. Filings must be legible and contain all required information.

Falls Church: Delegate forms must be filed by 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 21. Forms may be:
(1) mailed to P.O. Box 275, Falls Church VA 22040-0275 to arrive before 6:00 PM on March 21, 2013; (2) dropped off with any FCCRC officer at any FCCRC meeting before the Mass Meeting; or delivered to any FCCRC officer at the American Legion, 400 N. Oak St., Falls Church VA, between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM on Thursday, March 21, 2013
